Kolimechkov et al. 2019 (ALPHA-FIT)

Full name
ALPHA-FIT test battery norms for children and adolescents from 5 to 18 years of age obtained by a linear interpolation of existing European physical fitness references
Year
2019
Population
European children and adolescents aged 5-18. The interpolated ALPHA-FIT references combine IDEFICS child norms (ages 6-9, n=18,745 from 8 countries) and HELENA adolescent norms (ages 13-17, n=3,528 from 9 countries). No single test-specific n is reported for the 4x10 m shuttle run.
Study type
Interpolated normative reference study

About this reference

Kolimechkov et al. combined the two main European youth fitness references available for the ALPHA battery and linearly interpolated the missing ages and missing percentile columns, producing a single 5-18 year table for handgrip strength, standing long jump, and the 4x10 m shuttle run. The published 4x10 m tables report percentiles from P1 to P100 with direct values for P25, P50, and P75.
