About this reference
Percentile reference values for the Timed Up and Go (TUG) test drawn from the Tromsø Study, a large Norwegian population-based cohort. All five percentiles (P5, P25, P50, P75, P95) are reported natively by the authors at 5-year age intervals from 60 to 84, stratified by sex. No approximation or computation was required.
Known limitations
- Norwegian population only — may not fully generalise to other ethnicities or countries with different activity norms
- Ages 60–84 only; no normative data for adults under 60 from this source
- Cross-sectional design reflects population differences between cohorts, not individual ageing trajectories
